1st Week - On Self Evaluation and Assignments-

The name of the subject is Career Guidance, and to be honest, it didn’t spark any interest in me. Sub-consciously I know how much I hate thinking about my career in the near future, although I am very sure that Psychology is the degree I want to take up. First day of class was chilly. I was excited that the lecturer is someone whom I am familiar with, yet I still wanted to procrastinate and avoid the subject. Finally, a friend of mine, Maxveen, grabbed hold of me and pushed me into the class.

The subject, to my amazement, focused in a 360 degrees perspective. Ms.Yeo touched on individualistic assessment, a test to check where we stand career wise. The test she gave was a analysis on what career suites our personality. In order to be on the right track, she made us realize we should choose a career which best suites an individual’s personality. “Well, at least they cater to what I feel and think and not just black and white details” I thought to myself. The last thing I want is someone telling me, what career I should consider based on financial and intellectual perspective. I liked the class session, because I was able to relate to various interest available which best suites me in the psychology scope. Something I always wondered.

I was glad that I could take up Psychology and connect it to a career that interest me instead of just following the pack or whatever that offers a better output. I don’t want to take up a profession for the sake of the heavy pay slip and later in regret the profession as it doesn’t suite my interest.

I can’t wait for the results to be out, although I think I already know what is to be expected. I fall under an Artistic trait in the personality test she gave, because I am sure that I will never fall under technical or the intellectual category. Now that’s just my guess. I don’t know what is there to expect.

Then came the disastrous part, which I expected it to happen, assignments!
Ms.Yeo assigned assignments, and for the first time, I was excited!
Where can one get writing blogs as an assignment!?
Something I enjoy doing almost all the time.
